At KartHost, when you are set up for the automatic renewal of Domain Names (and you have a valid card on file as the Default card), our automation will automatically charge your card 1 day before the due date. This keeps from having the possibility of your domain name from expiring before renewing, as our automation automatically pays invoices at approximately 3 am every morning.
If you wish to change the Due Date (which is different from the Expiration Date of your domain name), we can do that for you; open a KartHost Customer Center Customer Service Support Ticket and make the request.
Why would you want to do this? Remember, if your domain name is suspended by the registry (owner of the .com, .net, .org, .biz, etc.). That means your inbound email will stop flowing, and your website traffic will also stop flowing. If you own a business, this could be disastrous!
- If you are out of town, on vacation, or business trip, you might not know your card failed to pay. It doesn’t matter the reason. You will only have one day to correct the issues.
- Peace of mind! If your domain name doesn’t renew and you move the renewal back 1 month or even 2 months, no panic; take care of the issue when you get back.
So, if you want that safety net, login to your KartHost Customer, open a Customer Service Support Ticket, and relax!
