Why Use the Sensitive Data Tab?

If you are asked to provide sensitive information, like your username, password, or other login credentials, please NEVER add them to the regular Message/Reply box. Instead, always use the Sensitive Data Tab  (formally known as Secure Content Box) within your KartHost support ticket.

The reason we ask this is for your privacy and security. Anything you place in the regular Message/Reply box is sent via email (non-encrypted) across the internet and open to the public. However, when you enter sensitive credentials in the Sensitive Data tab, that information is encrypted and stored securely within the KartHost Customer Center. It is never emailed out, keeping your credentials safe and secure in the KartHost Customer Center.

Using the Sensitive Data Tab on the View Ticket Page

Log into your KartHost Customer Center account, then open or reply to an existing support ticket. Here's how to use the Sensitive Data tab in the KartHost Customer Center:

[A] You will see the Ticket Settings section with several tabs: Reply, Sensitive Data, CC Recipients, and Attachments.

[B] A warning banner will appear at the top of the Reply tab, reminding you: "Please do not include passwords or login credentials here. Use the Sensitive Data tab to securely send confidential information." This alert serves as your reminder to use the correct tab for sensitive data.

[C] Click on the Sensitive Data tab to switch to the secure input area.

[D] In the Sensitive Data tab, you will find an encrypted markdown editor. Here is where you should enter all your sensitive credentials (login URLs, usernames, passwords, etc.). This information is encrypted and safely stored — it will NOT be emailed from the Customer Center. Delete any sample placeholder text before pasting or typing your credentials.

[E] Below the message editor in the Reply tab, you can find the Attachments area where you may add files. Notice the allowed file extensions listed. BE AWARE: Any attachments you upload here are sent via regular email (non-secure), so do not attach files containing sensitive credentials.

[F] When you are ready, click the Send Message (or Submit) button to reply to the ticket. Your sensitive data entered in the Sensitive Data tab will remain securely stored and encrypted within the ticket.

Using the Sensitive Data Tab When Opening a New Ticket

When creating a new support ticket, the KartHost Customer Center also provides a Sensitive Data tab alongside the Message tab at the top of the ticket creation form. Simply:

  1. Navigate to Support Tickets > Open Ticket

  2. Fill in your Subject and Message as usual

  3. Click the Sensitive Data tab (next to Message)

  4. Enter your confidential credentials in the encrypted text area

  5. Click Submit Ticket

Your sensitive credentials will be stored securely with your ticket and accessible only to authorized KartHost support staff. All Sensitive Data is deleted when Ticket is Closed.

Managing Your Sensitive Data

After you've submitted sensitive data to a ticket, you can:

  • Preview – View the data you previously entered (read-only)

  • Edit Data – Update or correct any credentials if they have changed

  • Remove Data – Delete your sensitive information once the ticket is resolved and no longer needed

Important: All sensitive data is automatically deleted when your ticket is closed. This automatic deletion ensures that your confidential credentials are not retained any longer than necessary. However, if you wish to remove your sensitive data sooner, you may delete it at any time before the ticket is closed.

These options help you maintain control over your data and ensure it is never stored longer than needed.

Ticket List Indicator

You can also identify tickets that contain sensitive data in your support ticket list — these tickets display a green shield icon next to them, letting you know that secure credentials are attached to that ticket.
