How to Enable 2FA and Security Questions in KartHost Customer Center

Product/Version: KartHost Customer Center  Audience: End-User  Last Updated: 2025-12-19

Purpose

Protect your account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for logins and setting a security question for password resets.

Feature Overview

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Used every time you log in to add a one-time code step after your password. This prevents unauthorized access even if your password is stolen.

  • Security Questions: Used primarily to verify your identity during password resets or when speaking with support staff.

Prerequisites

  • An active login for the KartHost Customer Center2.

  • A mobile device with an authentication app installed, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Duo.

Steps

Part 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Open Security Settings ( < 1 min)

    • Click on your Avatar or name in the top-right corner to open the dropdown menu.

    • Select Security Settings from the list.

  2. Initialize Setup

    • Under the Two-Factor Authentication tab, click the red Click here to Enable button.

    • In the "Enable Two-Factor Authentication" window, ensure Time Based Tokens is selected.

    • Click Get Started ».

  3. Connect Your App

    • Open your chosen authenticator app on your mobile device.

    • Scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

    • Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app into the "Enter authentication code" field.

    • Click Submit.

Part 2: Configure Security Questions (Optional)

  1. Access Security Questions

    • While still in Security Settings, click the Change Security Question tab.

  2. Set Your Answer

    • Choose a question from the dropdown menu (e.g., "Use this PIN Number").

    • Enter your answer in the Please enter an answer field.

    • Confirm your answer in the Please confirm your answer field.

    • Click Save Changes.

Expected Result

  • Activation: A confirmation message will appear indicating 2FA is active, and a backup code will be displayed.

  • Backup: You must save this backup code in a secure location; it is required if you lose access to your mobile device.

  • Login Behavior: Future login attempts will prompt for your email and password, followed by a request for a new 6-digit code from your app.
