How to Enable 2FA and Security Questions in KartHost Customer Center

Purpose
Protect your account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for logins and setting a security question for password resets.
Feature Overview

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Used every time you log in to add a one-time code step after your password. This prevents unauthorized access even if your password is stolen.

Security Questions: Used primarily to verify your identity during password resets or when speaking with support staff.
Prerequisites

An active login for the KartHost Customer Center2.

A mobile device with an authentication app installed, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Duo.
Steps
Part 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Open Security Settings ( < 1 min)

Click on your Avatar or name in the top-right corner to open the dropdown menu.

Select Security Settings from the list.

Initialize Setup

Under the Two-Factor Authentication tab, click the red Click here to Enable button.

In the "Enable Two-Factor Authentication" window, ensure Time Based Tokens is selected.

Click Get Started ».

Connect Your App

Open your chosen authenticator app on your mobile device.

Scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app into the "Enter authentication code" field.

Click Submit.

Part 2: Configure Security Questions (Optional)

Access Security Questions

While still in Security Settings, click the Change Security Question tab.

Set Your Answer

Choose a question from the dropdown menu (e.g., "Use this PIN Number").

Enter your answer in the Please enter an answer field.

Confirm your answer in the Please confirm your answer field.

Click Save Changes.

Expected Result

Activation: A confirmation message will appear indicating 2FA is active, and a backup code will be displayed.

Backup: You must save this backup code in a secure location; it is required if you lose access to your mobile device.

Login Behavior: Future login attempts will prompt for your email and password, followed by a request for a new 6-digit code from your app.
