How to Forward an Email as an Attachement using Outlook Express/Windows Mail Print

NOTE: These Email Managers discussed below are very old (usually found on Windows XP or Windows 7) and may not be compatible with todays technology. Use with extreme caution.

 

This How-To will address forwarding an email as an attachment, like you need to do if sending a Spam email to be analyzed for Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail.

Forward a Message as an Attachment with Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail

To forward an email attached to a new message:

  • While in its mailbox Highlight the message.
    • You can also open the email in its own window
  • Then select Message | Forward as Attachment from the menu.
    • Select Actions | Forward as Attachment if using Windows Live Mail, .
  • Now add the email address in which you are sending and compose the message as usual.
  • Finally, click Send to deliver it.

If you want to make sure you're not revealing anybody's email address to the recipient of the forwarded message, you should take some extra steps.

Attach any Email to any Outgoing Email in Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail or Outlook Express

To attach any email to a message you are composing in Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail or Outlook Express:

  • Locate the desired email in its folder.
  • Drag and drop the message onto the email composition window.
    • You can also highlight multiple messages and drag and drop to attach them all in one go.
